Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 59-year-old woman is facing impaired driving charges after a reported traffic complaint led police to a damaged vehicle in a residential driveway.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service say officers responded March 27 at about 3:13 p.m. to a report on Baldoon Road. Investigators determined an SUV had struck a mailbox and failed to remain at the scene.
Police later located the vehicle after it pulled onto a curb and into a driveway on Balmoral Road. The driver was observed exiting the vehicle and showed signs of impairment.
She was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where breath samples registered above the legal limit. She has been charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams.
The accused was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court May 6, 2026.
