Tilbury woman charged after vehicle enters ditch in early-morning crash

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 27-year-old woman is facing impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service say officers responded March 28 at about 2:42 a.m. to a report of a collision on Grove Road.

Investigators determined the vehicle had lost control and entered a six-foot ditch partially filled with water. The driver and a passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by paramedics.

Police say the driver displayed signs of impairment and was arrested. She was taken to police headquarters, where breath samples registered above the legal limit.

She has been charged with operation while impaired and having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams, and was released with conditions.

She is scheduled to appear in court April 13, 2026.
