Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: An 18-year-old Chatham-Kent woman has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with a credit card fraud investigation.
Chatham-Kent police say the investigation began on Feb. 20, 2026, after officers responded to a residence on Orchard Place regarding a fraud complaint.
Police allege the accused stole a credit card belonging to a 24-year-old victim and made several unauthorized purchases. Surveillance footage later identified the accused using the card at a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Officers say they formed grounds to charge the accused with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, theft of a credit card and use of a credit card.
A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
On April 2, 2026, at approximately 12:14 a.m., officers attended a residence in Chatham for an intimate partner violence incident, where the accused was located and arrested on the outstanding warrant.
She was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.
