With sadness we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Donald Barnier. Born and raised in Wallaceburg, he was a resident of Chatham. He passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, in Chatham, at the age of 58.
Bob is the beloved son of Donald and Diane (Cogghe) Barnier.
He was the father of Justin (Devlynn), Jessica (Josh), Jayden and Bryson and grandfather of Dicoda, Kyra, Sylus, Christopher and Kylie.
Bob will be sadly missed by his siblings and in-laws Angela (Jim), Dave (Rachel), Melissa (Aaron), Scott (Colleen) and Kristie (Al).
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Norman and Madeline (Foulon) Barnier, Marcel and Margaret (Seys) Cogghe.
Bob was well known for his love of music and most of all riding his motorcyle on the open road.
The late Robert “Bob” Barnier rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Following his wishes, cremation will take place. A private family celebration will take place at a later date. Burial of ashes will be in Riverview Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Diabetes Association may be left at the funeral home.
