Special weather statement
Environment Canada says additional rainfall is expected through the day, with totals of 10 to 20 millimetres and locally higher amounts possible before conditions ease this evening.
The agency warns the ground is already near saturation after several days of rain, limiting its ability to absorb more water and increasing the risk of localized impacts.
Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are forecast, with rainfall amounts expected to vary across the region. Officials say water may pool on roads and in low-lying areas, and are urging people to avoid flooded areas and not drive through standing water.
Environment Canada says rainfall warnings could be issued for some areas as conditions evolve, and is advising residents to continue monitoring forecasts and alerts.
