Jeanne Maria Coignau passed away peacefully at the age of 94 years, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance “Wallaceburg Site”.
Immigrating from Belgium in 1962, she made a life in Wallaceburg, working many years at the Glass Factory. She will be remembered by her family as a gifted seamstress, a lover of Happy Hour, and as the best french fry maker around.
She is survived by her two children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren who she adored and loved spending time with. Her courage, feistiness, and humour will live on through them.
She will also be missed by many friends and family here and in Belgium.
The late Jeanne Coignau is resting at Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd . 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
A private family service will take place.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
