Madeline Johana Debergh (née Janssens) passed away peacefully at CKHA on Friday, April 10, in her 94th year.
Madeline dedicated over 25 years to the St. Clair Catholic District School Board, working as a secretary at several elementary schools, where she formed many lifelong friendships. Always wanting to learn, she embraced technology well into her nineties. She turned colouring book pages into art pieces, was an avid reader and knitter and never missed her daily wordle.”
As the matriarch of the Mobergten clan (Moses, Debergh, Branton), she leaves behind her daughters, Michelle Debergh (Mark Lawton) and Karen Debergh (Philip Moses); her grandchildren, Emily Branton (Matthew Hutchinson) and Haven Moses; and her beloved grand-dogs, Finn, Clutch, and Baloo.
She will be sadly missed by her brother Joe Janssens, and her in-laws Arthur and Diana Debergh.
Madeline was predeceased by her loving husband Henry Debergh (2019), her son Dennis (2008), and her siblings Mary McGuire and Rene Janssens. We take comfort in knowing they are reunited.
Since 2019, Madeline made her home at The Oaks Retirement Village, where the family is deeply grateful for the care, compassion, and friendships she experienced there.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the CKHA-Wallaceburg Hospital Redevelopment or to The Oaks Inn Retirement Village Canada Day Celebration may be left at the funeral home.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
