Woman arrested after retail theft investigation in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 53-year-old Chatham woman has been arrested following a retail theft investigation.

Chatham-Kent police say they responded on March 8, 2026, at about 4:46 p.m. to a report of theft at a store on Grand Avenue West. Investigators allege the accused entered the store, selected merchandise and left without attempting to pay.

Police say surveillance footage led to the identification of a suspect and a warrant was issued.

On April 18, 2026, at approximately 10:27 a.m., the woman was located on Heritage Road in Chatham and arrested. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was being held for bail.
