UPDATE: The Chatham-Kent Police Service says there is no ongoing threat to public safety following an investigation in Blenheim that prompted residents to stay indoors and nearby schools to enter lockdown.
Police were called to the area of Chatham Street South for a report of a male in possession of a long gun and took initial steps to ensure public safety.
Officers have since located the individual and the weapon involved, which was determined to be a BB gun.
