With heavy hearts we announce that on April 15th, 2026, James Jr Tooshkenig, a member of Walpole Island First Nation suddenly left us at the age of 56. He will be forever remembered as a beloved son of the late James Sr Tooshkenig and Georgina Pinnance. Dear father of James III Tooshkenig of Corunna, brother to Audrey, Brenda Day (Mark), Dorothy and the late Alexander and Catherine (baa). He is survived by nieces and nephews.
James loved spending time fishing, hunting, boating and swimming. He loved playing horse shoes, darts, pool and enjoying nature.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Walpole Island Sports Complex on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 beginning at 2pm until the time of his funeral Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 11am.
