Wheatley man facing multiple charges after domestic disturbance

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 40-year-old Wheatley man is facing multiple charges following a domestic-related disturbance late Tuesday night.

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a residence in Wheatley at approximately 10:54 p.m. on April 22.

Investigations revealed that a 40-year-old male from Wheatley had attended the residence uninvited and became involved in a physical altercation with a 38-year-old victim from Wheatley.

The accused grabbed a table and threw it at the victim, striking her lower body. The accused also uttered threats to harm the victim. The accused then vacated the residence. No medical attention was reported.

Officers attended and located the accused in Wheatley.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with break and enter dwelling house to commit an indictable offence, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and assault with a weapon.

The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where he is currently being held for bail.
