Police training exercises planned at Chatham school

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Residents can expect an increased police presence near a local school as officers take part in training exercises this week.

Police say exercises will be conducted at St. Ursula School, located at 426 Lacroix Street, from April 28 to April 30, 2026.

During that time, nearby residents may hear realistic sound effects associated with the training.

“Members of the public are advised that this is only a training exercise. There is no cause for alarm,” police said.

To ensure safety and allow the exercises to proceed effectively, the public is being asked to avoid the immediate area while training is underway.

Police thanked residents for their understanding and cooperation.
