Police in Sarnia say they have shared new details in a fatal shooting investigation during a media briefing with local journalists.
The Sarnia Police Service invited media to a news conference on April 28, 2026, at 1 p.m. to provide an update on an arrest made in connection with the shooting death of a man. The briefing included information about the firearm believed to have been used in the incident.
“Dane’s family, his friends, and our community as a whole have been devastated by this crime,” police said in a statement.
“We thank the members of the media in attendance for their professional questions and respect shown for the family members in attendance.”
Police say the media conference has been made publicly available online as part of their commitment to transparency.
“As part of our continued commitment to transparency with our community, we have made this media conference available on YouTube,” police said.

Sarnia Police said that on Monday, April 27, 2026, homicide investigators identified a residence in London where the suspect was believed to be hiding. With assistance from the London Police Service, including its Emergency Response Unit, officers contained the home before the suspect surrendered.
Kyaw “Chin” Doe, 24, of Boullee Street in London, Ont., was arrested at the scene and turned over to Sarnia Police. He is being held for bail on charges of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Police allege Doe was the primary suspect in a shooting on April 10, 2026, at approximately 12:52 a.m., when officers were called to a Lambton College campus bar for reports of gunfire.
