Update at 1:15 p.m.: A police incident in Wallaceburg that prompted a public advisory has concluded safely, with one person taken into custody.
Chatham-Kent Police Service allege officers responded at about 2:47 a.m. on May 1 to a residence on Wallace Street following reports of a disturbance involving an individual believed to be in crisis.
Police said officers attempted to communicate with the individual, identified as a 21-year-old Wallaceburg man.
“During the interaction, the accused made threats toward police and indicated there was a presence of weapons inside,” police said.
Officers established containment around the residence and continued communication while maintaining public safety.
At about 8:23 a.m., the individual was taken into custody without further incident.
“As a result of the investigation, the accused will be charged with one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm,” police said.
The investigation remains ongoing.

“The area is now clear, and the public is free to return. We appreciate your cooperation during this incident,” police officials stated.
