St. Clair Catholic honours four staff with Living Our Faith award

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has recognized four employees with its Living Our Faith Lighting the Way Award, presented every two years during the board’s Faith Day to honour staff who exemplify the mission of Catholic education.

The award celebrates individuals who demonstrate Gospel values through service, leadership and commitment to students, colleagues, parishes and the broader community.

This year’s recipients are Amanda (Mandy) Brown, Tara MacDonald, Brady Turcotte and Josh Wright.

Director of Education Lisa Demers praised the recipients, saying, “Each of these remarkable individuals lights the way for others through their commitment to our students, families, and colleagues. Their witness to faith is a gift to our entire Board.”

Brown, a program resource teacher at St. Anne Catholic School, was recognized for her compassion and dedication to inclusion, with colleagues noting her efforts to ensure every student feels valued and supported.

MacDonald, a secretary at Gregory A. Hogan Catholic School, was honoured for fostering a welcoming, faith-filled environment and for her outreach efforts supporting families, including addressing food insecurity.

Turcotte, a custodian at St. Joseph Catholic School, was recognized for nearly 30 years of service and his commitment to caring for the school community through what the board described as quiet leadership.

Wright, vice-principal at St. Angela Merici Catholic School, was honoured for helping build a culture of respect and inclusion through leadership grounded in faith.

Board officials say the award reflects the continued commitment of staff to fostering safe, inclusive and faith-centred learning environments across the system.
