John Cummings was the first candidate to enter the Council race in North West Kent.
Cummings filed his nomination papers on Monday, May 4, 2026.
In the newly draw ward boundaries in Chatham-Kent, one candidate will be elected in North West Kent, which includes Dresden, Mitchell’s Bay and the surrounding areas.
The nomination period opened May 1 and will run until Aug. 21, 2026, at 2 p.m.
