Students from Walpole Island preparing for graduation will have access to free formal wear at an upcoming community event while organizers continue to seek donations to support the initiative.
Cal’s Boutique will host a free shopping event for Grades 8 and 12 students on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Walpole Island Health Centre. Attendees will be able to find graduation or prom attire at no cost, and light refreshments will be served.
Organizers are also continuing a formal wear drive to collect additional items ahead of the event. Donations currently being sought include men’s dress shoes and shirts, ties and belts, as well as evening bags, clutches, ladies’ dress shoes and jewelry such as necklaces and bracelets.
