Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Chatham-Kent police say a 34-year-old man from Essex County is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic complaint in Tilbury.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle unable to maintain its lane of travel on Queens Line at approximately 9:35 p.m. on May 5, 2026. Police located the vehicle shortly after and conducted a traffic stop.
Through investigation, officers formed grounds to believe the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further testing.
He has been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 29, 2026.
