With sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Mrs. Sarah Vokey, of Wallaceburg, on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Site at the age of 70 years.
She was born in Whitbourne, Newfoundland and was a daughter of the late John and Martha (Hurley) Phillips.
She is survived by her loving husband Noel Vokey.
Dear mother of Amanda (Jonathan) Chevalier, Jeff (Stef) Vokey and Skyla Cracknell.
Proud and very devoted grandmother to Jakob, Isaac, Noah and Ben.
Kind sister of Jerry (Karen) Phillips, Bessie (the late Raymond) Smith, Lynn (Dan) Hanson, the late Robert Phillips, the late Cassie Phillips and the late Shirley Phillips. Kind sister-in-law of Cyril (Maxine) Vokey, Anne (John) MacDonald, Judy (Dee) Jekinsjan, the late Boyd (the late Lucy) Vokey and Wayne (surviving Sandy) Vokey.
Sarah was the daughter-in-law of the late Isaac and Lenora (Barrett) Vokey.
She will always be remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them.
She enjoyed playing bingo and cooking for her family.
The late Sarah Vokey is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 11am to 2pm at the funeral home.
The Interment of ashes will take place following her celebration in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Ronald McDonald House or the Sick Kids Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
