Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 29-year-old Chatham man has been charged after police investigated an alleged breach of court-ordered probation conditions late Thursday night.
Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a residence on Raleigh Street at about 11:35 p.m. after receiving information that a man was breaching probation conditions.
Police said the accused was within prohibited distances of the victim’s residence, contrary to existing probation conditions. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and conducted patrols in the area before locating the accused nearby.
The man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and held for bail.
