Sombra Township Optimists are preparing for their annual car show on June 20 at Brander Park in Port Lambton, an event that will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and welcomes spectators free of charge.

Vehicle owners can enter for $10 and the first 200 registered participants will receive a souvenir.

Food will be available at the Sombra Optimists famous food tent from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Miller Meats food truck will be on site too. Your sweet tooth will be satisfied as well with sweets from Rolling Ruby and Riverside on the Road Ice Cream throughout the day.

Entertainment will feature live oldies music in the licensed area, with DJ Andy Hardman playing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Big Shiny Toons performing from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Pull 3 closing the evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A children’s zone will offer activities for younger visitors.

Online draws include a 50/50 raffle and two e‑bikes, with details available through the Sombra Township Optimist Club’s raffle link.

Organizers say the event is about more than cars and entertainment.

In a conversation with co-chair Philip Smith, he confirmed that every cent raised at the show goes directly back into the community to support local programs and initiatives.
