Heat warning
A heat warning remains in effect for Chatham-Kent, with daytime highs of 31 to 33 C and humidex values between 39 and 43 expected Thursday, while overnight temperatures will remain near 21 C. Environment Canada says conditions near Lake Erie and Lake Huron may be slightly cooler. Although temperatures are expected to stay in the upper 20s to near 30 C on Friday and Saturday, lower humidity levels should provide some relief. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day, check on vulnerable people, and watch for signs of heat-related illness such as dizziness, nausea, headache and extreme fatigue.
