Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 33-year-old Chatham man has been charged after police responded to a report of an unwanted person disrupting a gathering on Grand Avenue East.
Chatham-Kent police said officers were dispatched to the area at about 5:15 p.m. on June 22. The man was arrested for breach of the peace after allegedly refusing to leave the area.
Police said a search following the arrest uncovered a pocketknife. Investigators determined the accused was subject to an undertaking prohibiting possession of weapons or items defined as weapons under the Criminal Code.
The man was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and was transported to police headquarters, where he was held for bail.
