Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing charges after police responded to a mischief complaint in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to Wellington Street at about 3:09 p.m. on June 29.
Police allege a witness observed the man enter a vehicle before using a knife to cut the vehicle’s soft-top roof. Officers located the suspect still inside the vehicle.
The man was charged with mischief under $5,000 and failure to comply with a release order.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
