Windsor man charged after vehicle strikes stop sign in Chatham-Kent

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 19-year-old Windsor man is facing several charges after a vehicle struck a stop sign and left the scene in Chatham-Kent.

Chatham-Kent police said officers were called to the intersection of Selton Line and Victoria Road at about 9:36 a.m. on June 30 after receiving a report that a vehicle had collided with a stop sign.

Police said the vehicle had left the scene before officers arrived but was located a short time later at a residence on Selton Line.

No injuries were reported.

The 19-year-old man is charged with careless driving, failing to produce an insurance card and possession of a controlled substance.

He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for Aug. 6.
