Chatham-Kent police are advising residents that officers will conduct a training exercise at Georges P. Vanier School on Tuesday.
The exercise will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school, located at 20 Cecile Ave. in Chatham.
Police said residents can expect an increased police presence in the area during the training. The exercise will also include realistic sound effects that may be heard by nearby neighbours.
Police emphasized that the activity is a planned training exercise and said there is no cause for alarm. Members of the public are asked to avoid the immediate area while the exercises are underway to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the training.
Police thanked residents for their understanding and cooperation as officers take part in the training.
