OPP officials allege: Police have charged an individual following a traffic complaint in St. Clair Township.
On July 10, at approximately 4:48 p.m., members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a possible impaired driver on West Point Line in Port Lambton. Police located the vehicle on Old River Road, where a traffic stop was conducted.
A 64-year-old St. Clair Township resident was charged under the Criminal Code with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on Aug. 24.
Lambton County OPP thanked members of the public who promptly reported the traffic complaint, saying their vigilance helps keep roads safe from impaired drivers.
