Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 44-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with impaired driving following a traffic stop late Thursday night.
Chatham-Kent police received a call for service regarding a possible impaired driver on Highway 40 at approximately 11:24 p.m. on July 23. Officers located the vehicle in the area of St. Clair Road and initiated a traffic stop. Investigators said they formed grounds to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol.
The man was arrested and taken to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters for further testing. He was subsequently charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration of 80 milligrams. He was released on an undertaking and is set to appear in court on August 31, 2026.
