Some health care services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered on Monday, Aug. 3, in recognition of the Civic Holiday.
During the statutory holiday, some outpatient diagnostic tests will still take place, and patients with scheduled appointments are advised to attend them. Those departments will also be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies.
Ambulatory Care Services, Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Pre-Surgical Screening Services, the Diabetes Education Centre, the TIA and CAD Clinics, the Pulmonary Function Lab, Outpatient Lab Services, and Health Records and Patient Appointment Offices will be closed on the holiday. The Musculoskeletal Rapid Access Clinic at the Chatham site will also be closed, as will the Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program Outpatient Department and the Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic. Anyone experiencing an immediate crisis is asked to call the crisis line at 1-866-299-7447 or visit their nearest emergency room.
Elston Pharmacy at the Chatham site, the Oncology/Chemotherapy Department, and the Business Office and Cashier’s Office will also be closed, though two bill changers will remain available in the building to provide change for coins. Hemodialysis care will remain open. The emergency departments at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will continue to operate 24 hours a day.
