Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Wallaceburg man is facing an assault charge following an incident at a residence on Wallace Street on Thursday evening.
Chatham-Kent police responded to the report of an assault at approximately 5:46 p.m. on July 30, 2026.
Upon arrival, police learned that a verbal dispute had taken place over property. The dispute escalated, at which point the accused struck the victim on the left side of her face.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with assault.
The accused was brought to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, where he was released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on September 17, 2026.
