Man charged with weapons offence after traffic complaint in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Romney Township man is facing a weapons charge following a traffic complaint in Blenheim.

On August 1, 2026, at approximately 2:04 a.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were dispatched to the area of John Street West in Blenheim for reports of a traffic complaint.

Through investigation, officers found one of the involved drivers to be in possession of a prohibited weapon as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old man from Romney Township was arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

The male was released on an appearance notice with a future court date of October 27, 2026.
