OPP investigating copper theft in St. Clair Township

OPP officials allege: The Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a theft of copper from a business property in St. Clair Township.

On July 28, 2026, Lambton County OPP received a report that sometime between 5 p.m. on July 27, 2026, and 8 a.m. on July 28, 2026, unknown individuals attended a business property on Rokeby Line.

The individuals gained access to the property by cutting a hole in the perimeter fence before stealing copper wiring and lightning rods.

The estimated value of the stolen property is approximately $8,000.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Lambton County OPP is asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area during the time of the incident, or who has dash camera, security camera, or other information that may assist the investigation, to contact the Lambton County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
