Gail Sedlak

Gail Sedlak passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at the Leamington Hospice, surrounded by her family, just five days shy of her 86th birthday.

Gail is now reunited with the love of her life, Mal Sedlak (2020), who assuredly had a lawn chair and campfire prepared and waiting for her. Gail is lovingly remembered by her children: Connie Hall (Bill), Ricky Fox (Deb) and Robin Fox-Nantais (Doug). Plus, Mal’s children Mike Sedlak (Lucy) and Jeff Sedlak (Shelley).

She’ll be missed by her grandchildren: Aaron Hall (Dana), Timmy McKenzie (Alysha), Michael Roy, Cory Connelly-Fox (Jessica), along with Tiffany Morly (Jeff), Andrew Sedlak, Shawn Nantais (Robin), Jessica Nantais, Dustin Baltzer, Misty Baltzer and her special niece Bree Breault (Mike).

Her pride and joy were her great-grandchildren: Ava, Daylia, Cayleigh, Madison, Logan (plus one on the way in January), Benjamin, Emily, Lily, Haley, Chase, Reece, Jack, and Hunter. Remembered dearly by her special great nephews and niece, Lincoln, Rayland and Delilah. She was loved by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and family, including her kitty, Chloe.

Gail was the second oldest of five children from her late parents, Annie (2012) and Richard Balkwill (1990). Gail is survived by her younger brother Bill Balkwill (the late Corliss) and her youngest sister Brenda Balkwill (Roy). She is predeceased by her oldest brother Gary Balkwill (Dorothy) and younger sister Carol Vincent.

Gail was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188 in Kingsville and was a former volunteer with their Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a Lioness in Kingsville and volunteered at the Salvation Army in Wallaceburg.

Gail loved to watch and play darts, especially at the Reg Wilson Memorial Dart Tournament.

She made countless friends during her and Mal’s years staying at Campers Cove in Wheatley. Many memories were made at the Cove, including: dances, campfires, feasts, pepper, bingo and euchre games. Some of the moments are a bit hazy, but memorable nonetheless. She always enjoyed going out for breakfast, lunch or dinner with her friends and family. Gail loved country music, watching her family play sports and she was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers.

A celebration of life for Gail will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188 – Kingsville (145 Division St S, Kingsville, ON) starting at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted through Kendrick Funeral Home (91 Division St. S, Kingsville, ON N9Y 1P5) for the Erie Shores Hospice or to the Kingsville Legion Poppy Fund.

Condolences and special memories can be shared with the family at www.Kendrickfuneralhome.com.
