The Moore Community and Recreational Foundation has announced its 2026 grant recipients, awarding a total of $14,300 to community groups.
Sombra Sports & Recreation received $1,500, the Sombra Community Volunteer Garden Club $2,000, the Moore Agricultural Society $2,500, the Sombra Museum $1,500 and the Moore Museum $2,000. The Optimist Club of Moore received $900 for its street festival and $3,000 for the Corunna clock. The Fast Grower Garden Club received $400, and the Brigden Decoration Committee $500.
Representatives of the recipient groups were on hand along with Mayor Jeff Agar and outgoing foundation chair Mary Jane Marsh. The recipient presentations can be viewed through the township’s council meeting video.
The foundation was formed in 1990 for those who wish to express their community pride through donations, bequests and other gifts. Funds received are used to benefit worthy community initiatives. Grant applications are reviewed each year by foundation committee members who represent the entire Township of St. Clair.
