The 1st Sombra Township Scout Group is holding its annual Apple Day fundraiser this weekend, with Beavers, Cubs and Scouts turning one of fall’s favourite fruits into support for local Scouting adventures.
The event runs Friday, Oct. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at locations across Wallaceburg, including Walmart, Canadian Tire and Home Hardware.
Apple Day has been a Scouting tradition since 1952. Funds raised go toward outdoor adventures for youth, camping equipment, training and other Scouting endeavours.
The group says shoppers without cash can still support Scouts, as members will be using Tap to accept digital payments at Walmart.
