New sponsor for Dymock Classic
This year’s Frank Dymock Classic hockey tournament has a new sponsor on board.
The Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame has stepped up to become the ‘Champion’ sponsor for the event.
“Along with many other supporting businesses and people, we are able to run the tournament which is being held from Friday, February 17 to Sunday, February 19,” said Tom Cogghe, organizer of the tournament.
“We will be welcoming teams from all over and they will play games at both the Walpole Island Sports Complex and the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena. Currently we have 28 teams registered in the Novice, Atom, Peewee and Bantam divisions. We are prepared to take up to 32 teams and still looking for a couple teams in the Novice and Atom divisions.”
Teams that are interested can register through their tournament website, by clicking here.
“During the tournament we welcome all spectators to come out and enjoy some great hockey at no cost,” Cogghe said.
“Instead of gate fees we do ask people to bring in non-perishable items to help stock the shelves of the Salvation Army food bank. Besides the exciting hockey we will also have vendors onsite as well as a bake sale, raffle table and 50/50 draws which can be found upstairs.”
The registration deadline in January 14.
