The efforts of Community Living Chatham-Kent and its community partners were highlighted during an event at the Civic Centre on Tuesday morning.

More than 100 people turned out for the Community Living flag raising and a charity barbeque sponsored by OPSEU Local 148.

Three awards were also presented at the event.

The recipients of this yearā€™s Joyce M. Carr Champion Award were Tilbury Foodland owners Merrick and Denise McCall for their long-time support of hiring individuals on the basis of ability.

Renee Cadotte and Chad Caron were the recipients of this yearā€™s Rob McLandress Make a Dream Come True Fund awards. Both will attend events of their choice in Toronto later this year.

The fund was made possible through a bequest to Community Living Chatham-Kent by the late Father James Williams. Father Williams was an ongoing supporter of the work of Community Living Chatham-Kent.
