Police: Vehicle collides with deer, shoplifting, warrants

Shoplifting

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 8, 2019 a 31 year old, Chatham man entered the Sobeys, 215 Park Avenue West, Chatham selected items from the shelves and attempted to leave the store without paying.

The store manager was able to detain the male until police arrived.

As a result, the man was arrested for one count of Theft Under $5,000 and two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

The male was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date.

Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 8, 2019 at approximately 9:40 a.m. a 52 year old Blenheim man was located by officers and arrested on an outstanding first instance warrant for Breach of Probation.

The male party was held for a bail hearing.

Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 4th, 2019 a compliance check was conducted on a 40 year old Chatham whom had been
released on conditions.

The male was not at home and was found to be in violation of his curfew
condition.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On July 9th, 2019 at approximately 7:34 a.m. the male party was located and arrested for Fail to comply with Recognizance.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 9, 2019 at approximately 6 a.m. a vehicle travelling south-bound on Merlin Line collided with a deer.

The deer was deceased upon impact; the driver of the vehicle was not injured and damages are estimated to be approximately $3,000.
