Police: Impaired driving, dirt bike and ATV collide, B&E

Man charged with drinking and driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening, police responded to reports of a vessel causing a disturbance in Shrewsbury at the Shrewsbury Dock.

The vessel hooked up to a vehicle and fled the scene.

The vehicle and occupants were then located in which a traffic stop was executed.

The officer began investigating the incident and determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.

The driver, a 19 year old male from Charing Cross, was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the OPP station for further breath tests.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime on Friday night, unknown suspects entered a garage on Baldoon Road in Chatham and stole a 1999 Red Yamaha ATV with plate marker 1NY28.

Motor vehicle collision in Harwich Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 5:30 p.m. on Friday night, police responded to a collision on Sinclair Line involving an ATV and a dirt bike.

A 59-year-old Blenheim woman and a 32-year-old Blenheim man were both separate drivers in the incident.

The Blenheim man was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The total damage as a result of the collision was approximately $5,000.

Woman arrested for breach of the peace

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At approximately 4:45 a.m. on Saturday morning a 35-year-old woman attended the Chatham Women’s Centre and was acting aggressive towards staff.

Police attended the location and arrested the female for breach of the peace.

She was set to be released at a later time
