Investigation launched after a fire in Wallaceburg

An investigation has been launched after a fire on Saturday in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege on Saturday afternoon, June 6, around 12:30 p.m. emergency crews responded to a structure fire on Elgin Street.

“The fire originated in a garbage bin attached to the residence,” police officials said in a media release.

“The fire department attended the scene and extinguished the fire without incident.”

Police say the approximate value of damage was $20000.

“The cause of the fire remains under investigation,” police officials added.
