Michael Oliver of Walpole Island

Michael George Oliver, a member of Walpole Island First Nation passed away on January 16, 2021 at the age of 62.

Son of the late George and Marietta Oliver and dear brother of Mark ā€˜Corkyā€™, Nancy, David (Amy) and the late John Oliver.

Michael was a precious uncle to Ryleigh, Everleigh and Paisleigh.

Mike was a huge Miami Dolphins fan.

After graduating Police College, he worked for a brief time at the Walpole Island Police Department.

For 30 years, Mike served as a church warden at the Walpole Island Anglican Church.

He was an avid Bingo Player, and volunteered many times for the charity clubs.

Mike was a member of the Walpole Island and Wallaceburg Optimist Club for 30 years, and served as president several times.

Thank you to all the nurses and doctors at CKHA-Chemotherapy Department, the London Regional Cancer Clinic and the Victorian Order of Nurses for all your care.

Community visitation will be held at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 1-5pm.

A private family funeral will take place on Wednesday with burial at Highbanks Cemetery.
