The active COVID-19 case count has dropped by two over the weekend and sits at 15 in Chatham-Kent.
The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit updated their ‘current situation’ page, which provides a summary of COVID-19 cases and testing in Chatham-Kent, on Monday, March 1, 2021.
The total number of COVID-19 cases increased by three and sits at 1,353 across Chatham-Kent.
CK Public Health officials say no one is hospitalized with COVID-19 from Chatham-Kent.
Public health officials announced five new recoveries, increasing the total to 1,329.
There remains one active COVID-19 outbreak across the community, which is the institutional outbreak at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg. A total of 100 cases have been linked to this outbreak, which was first declared on January 10, 2021.
Seven of the active cases are unknown, six are linked to close contact, one is linked to institutional outbreaks outside of Chatham-Kent and one is linked to travel.
Since the pandemic began in March, nine people from Chatham-Kent have died from COVID-19.
A total of 83,216 tests for the virus have been completed to date.
A total of 914 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine had been administered in Chatham-Kent as of February 20, 2021.
Beginning on Monday, March 1, 2021, Chatham-Kent moved into the ‘Orange-Restrict’ tier of the Keeping Ontario Safe and Open framework.
