Construction crews will be busy in Wallaceburg doing some asphalt work on a couple of railway crossing main lines and spurs.
Infrastructure and engineering services officials for the Municipality say some roads will be closed temporarily as a result.
Gillard Street, between Pearl Street and Huron Street, will be closed from Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 8 a.m. to Friday, May 28, 2021 at 6 p.m.
“All lanes (will be) closed at former CSX Railway crossing,” Municipal officials say.
“Local traffic will be permitted up to work zone. Emergency vehicles will not have access through the work zone.”
The posted detour route is Pearl Street, Wallace Street and Huron Street.
Similar asphalt work on the railway crossing on Murray Street will be conducted on Monday, May 31, 2021 between Duke and Earl Streets between the times of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The posted detour route is Reaume Avenue, McNaughton Avenue (Hwy 40), Gillard Street and Queen Street.
