“In 1960, the Dominion Glass Company completed construction on the Batch Tower in Wallaceburg.
There were four main compartments in the tower for the four main ingredients of glass.
The four compartments in the Batch Tower contained crushed limestone, soda ash from Amherstburg, sand from Michigan and broken glass from the factory.
The tower remained a landmark in Wallaceburg for many years and was always decorated for Christmas.”
