Police investigating fatal crash in Howard Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, shortly after 3 p.m. police responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Victoria Road and Botany Line.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a man driving a pick-up truck while pulling a grain vac was travelling northbound on Victoria Road.

As the man turned right onto Botany Line, his truck was struck by a car travelling at a high rate of speed from the rear.

The driver of the car was transported to hospital where despite life-saving efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service offer their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the 32-year-old Chatham woman.

The 62-year-old Thamesville man was not physically injured.
