OPP: Three-day suspension, stunt driving, speeding, traffic infractions

OPP officials allege: The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chatham Detachment has issued a driver a three-day suspension following a traffic stop.

On October 12, 2023, at approximately 12:52 a.m., a member of the Chatham Detachment conducted a traffic stop on the westbound Highway 401 near 102-Kilometer marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent after it was found speeding.

The investigating officer detected signs of alcohol consumption from the driver and administered a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test, registering an Alert.

As a result of the investigation the driver, an 18-year-old of Embro, was charged with:

– Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

– Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

– Young driver – B.A.C. above zero

Additionally, the driver was issued a three-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).

The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive.

OPP officials allege: On October 5, 2023, at approximately 10:11 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 near 74-Kilometer marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found travelling more than 55 Km/h over the posted limit.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old of Toronto was charged with:

OPP officials allege: On October 5, 2023, at approximately 11:54 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 near 74-Kilometer marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found travelling more than 65 Km/h over the posted limit.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old of Toronto was charged with:

OPP officials allege: On October 6, 2023, at approximately 3:58 p.m., an officer stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 near the 121-Kilometer Marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, following a driver’s licence status notification from the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old of Oakville was charged with:

OPP officials allege: On October 7, 2023, at approximately 4:36 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 near 92-Kilometer marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found travelling more than 55 Km/h over the posted limit.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old of Scarborough was charged with:

OPP officials allege: On October 7, 2023, at approximately 8:26 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 near 84-Kilometer marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found travelling more than 65 Km/h over the posted limit.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old of Windsor was charged with:

Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

OPP officials allege: On October 8, 2023, at approximately 12:44 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle exiting onto Communication Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found speeding on the westbound Highway 401 near 91-Kilometer marker.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old of Mississauga was charged with:

Operate motor vehicle without insurance
Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit
Fail to have insurance card

OPP officials allege: On October 8, 2023, at approximately 4:49 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the eastbound Highway 401, Township of Southwold, after it was found travelling more than 55 Km/h over the posted limit.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old of Windsor was charged with:

Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

OPP officials allege: On October 9, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the eastbound Highway 401 near 76-Kilometer marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found speeding.

As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old of London was charged with:

Driving while under suspension
Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

OPP officials allege: On October 9, 2023, at approximately 11:50 a.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on St. Clair Road near Brook Line, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, following a licence plate status notification from the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old of Chatham was charged with:

Use plate not authorized for vehicle
Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

OPP officials allege: On October 9, 2023, at approximately 12:59 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the eastbound Highway 401 near the 81-Kilometer Marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, following a driver’s licence status notification from the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old of Stouffville was charged with:

Driving while under suspension
Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
Fail to notify change of address – licence

OPP officials allege: On October 9, 2023, at approximately 2:35 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 near the 55-Kilometer Marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after receiving a traffic complaint regarding the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old of Windsor was charged with:

Driving while under suspension
Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
