Man arrested for possession of stolen property

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 15, 2023, at 5:08 a.m., police responded to a robbery at a home on Peter Street in Chatham.

Police learned the masked suspects stole a large amount of money and the victim’s wallet from the home.

In the following days, investigators monitored victim’s debit and credit card activity.

On August 27, 2023, the man used the debit card to make several purchases throughout Chatham.

Investigators obtained the stores’ surveillance footage and identified the man.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On October 11, 2023, at 2:06 p.m., the man was located and arrested.

The 45-year-old Chatham man was charged with five counts of unauthorized use of a credit card and five counts of possessing stolen property.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 3:55 p.m., the woman was located by an officer on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

The officer confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court concerning a fraud under $ 5,000 charge.

The 29-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released with a court date of November 6, 2023.
