Man sent to hospital after being bottled at a Chatham bar, aggravated assault charges laid

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A verbal argument took place at an establishment on Grand Ave East, Chatham.

The disturbance turned into a serious assault when a 22-year-old male was struck in the head with a bottle, causing him to seek medical attention at Public General Hospital for a head injury.

A 21-year-old Chatham man was located and placed under arrest.

This man was transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters where he was charged with aggravated assault.

The man was released with a future court date of August 12, 2024.
