It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and cousin Joanne O’Neil on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the age of 67.
Joanne is the daughter of the late Bill (2021) and Theresa (1978) MacArthur and her loving mother Nadine MacArthur and good friend Bill Gregory.
She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Collette O’Neil (Bryan).
Grandsons Carter Knight, Jax Latimer and bonus daughter Darla Ouellette.
Predeceased by her daughter Amy O’Neil (1976), her son Billy O’Neil (2016). Siblings Lachlan MacArthur (Jody), Bill MacArthur (Sheri), Annmarie Alexander (Dennis), Sherry McGuire (Pat), Cindy Watson (Ron), and Bonus sisters Barb Palocz and Chrissy Stiltz.
Collette’s father Kim O’Neil and family Karen McCready (Ric), Kerrie Fields (Rick), Kellie Johnston and Ken O’Neil (Trish) who will all deeply feel her absence.
Deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Deeply missed by her bonus dog Maverick.
Joanne has participated in slow-pitch since the age of 20.
Her passion for the sport and skill as a great pitcher defined her.
She traveled to cheer on her grandchildren, nieces and nephews at hockey, baseball, soccer and lacrosse.
Her favourite days were time spent with family and friends.
She lived life to the fullest, always up for a good time, she loved to dance, play her old records and taking pictures was her favourite.
We want to express our gratitude to the personnel at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and London Health Sciences Centre.
Every doctor, nurse and staff who cared for Joanne provided exceptional service.
Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday August 20 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
The funeral will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 21 at 1 PM. Interment to follow in Riverview Cemetery.
