Attempted murder charges laid after a stabbing in Chatham, investigation is ongoing

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 10, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police were called to a disturbance on Grand Avenue East in Chatham, in which two males were engaged in a physical altercation.

Upon police arrival, they located the male victim who had significant injuries as a result of being stabbed.

First aid was rendered by officers on the scene, and the victim was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested at the scene, has been charged with attempt murder, and was held for bail.

The victim and accused are known to each other, and there is no concern for public safety.

Police are seeking anyone with video footage or information relevant to this matter.
